About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Technical Functions, you will be responsible for leading and setting direction for a diverse team of Discipline Engineers. In addition, you will be holding the team accountable to provide engineering expertise through the development and embedment of project/program engineering strategies, standards and frameworks that ensure the process and design is optimised to enable safe, efficient and effective construction, commissioning and operation.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Actively supply input into the strategic direction of the Technical Function and work closely with the other Discipline Engineering Managers to standardise systems, processes and tools.
  • Drive team focus on value optimisation to ensure engineering and design are lean and  optimised to deliver a product which meets the owner’s team expectations with regards to safety, quality, cost and schedule.
  • Establish maintain and govern development plans to ensure appropriately skilled Technical Engineering resources are matched to the underlying program scope.

About You

You will be high-performing professional with a demonstrated ability to make effective use of systematic approaches to address complex challenges. Key to your success will be prior experience in leading teams and implementing change. This may be exhibited as leading through influence rather than leading through line authority. In addition, you will have superior interpersonal and facilitation skills, as well as the ability to clearly communicate key issues with senior executives as well as technical experts.

You will possess mature judgement, excellent analytical skills and be a flexible, resourceful and collaborative problem solver.  In this role you will work cross functionally and with our Operations, gaining great insight into, and influencing the strategic direction.

This is an excellent career opportunity as this role is an important stepping-stone to future leadership opportunities and will enable you to hone your commercial acumen and strategic thinking skills in a corporate environment.

A tertiary qualification in a relevant field is preferable. Exposure to the mining industry is beneficial, although not essential.
