Downer Mining has been working at the Sunrise Dam operation since 1998 in the Goldfields area of Western Australia, and currently provides load and haul and equipment maintenance services at the mine in a joint venture with Indigenous mining contractor, Carey Mining.

Downer Mining is currently looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Fitter at our Sunrise Dam operation.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance on the mobile fleet in the field and workshop. You will also perform inspections to determine condition and suitability to return to service including the preparation of relevant reports and documentation.

This position will be on a 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth.

ABOUT YOU

• Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate
• Current HR driver's licence and police clearance is essential
• Extensive experience with Cat earthmoving equipment including 793 Dump Trucks, D10 Dozers, 16m graders and 992 loaders and also Komatsu PC1250 Excavator
• Experience in an open cut mining environment is essential.
• You will possess a solid Safety focus with a high attention to detail and abide by site safety processes
• Supervisory experience would be advantageous
• Able to work in a team environment

Downer Mining employees are accommodated at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine village. The village provides recreational facilities including two recreation courts, wet mess, gymnasium and BBQ facilities.
