Overview
We are looking for Vacation Students to join our Cadia Valley Operation in Orange, NSW for our summer program commencing in late November 2018 and ending in February 2019. At Newcrest, our Vacation Students gain experience across a range of environments where they contribute, learn and strengthen their talents at the forefront of the mining industry. You will gain experience working on exciting real life projects with leading professionals using the best in technology and processes. Working as part of a team dedicated to the safe exploration, mining and production of gold you will gain invaluable hands-on professional experience and development throughout your program.
This is a residential site where you will work on a 5/2 roster.
About You
We are seeking applications from current students with tertiary qualifications in the following disciplines:
- Mining Engineering
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Geology
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Process Control Engineering
- Environment
Our Vacation Student role will see you coached and mentored by highly knowledgeable teams, developing your skills and experience working on real life exciting projects with leading professionals using the best in technology and processes. You will be part of a team that is dedicated to the safe exploration, mining and production of gold, and will gain invaluable hands-on professional experience throughout the program.
It is essential that you have a strong academic record coupled with excellent people skills and leadership potential.
Please note we can only consider applicants who hold the right to work in Australia and can commence in late November 2018.
