MMG’s inaugural mine development project, Dugald River, is a world-class zinc-lead-silver deposit located in north-west Queensland. We currently have a fantastic career opportunity available for an experienced and dynamic Mining Engineer to join our team at Dugald River Mine.   

The purpose of this position is to ensure production activities are supported with appropriate plans and schedules which are then followed and monitored to provide for safe and efficient mine production. The outcome being that site development and production targets are met or exceeded and that optimal extraction of the ore body is ensured.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, this newly created role is responsible for accurate and timely mine operating plans, designs, schedules and budgets for Dugald River Mine ensuring the requirements of the business and specifically :

• Production of Short (weekly) and Medium (13 week) plans and associated variance reports.
• Mine production sequencing, scheduling and forecasting in consultation with technical services personnel.
• Communication and implementation of these plans in conjunction with mining operations personnel.

As successful candidate you will have a history in successfully partnering with stakeholders from other internal business units/departments, promoting a culture of mutual respect and knowledge sharing. Equally, you’ll have an inclusive approach in your dealings with primary contractors and consulting partners.

This role will be based on an 8/6 roster. For candidates who reside in the Cloncurry and Mount Isa districts, a Drive in Drive out (DIDO) arrangement is available. A FIFO arrangement is also available to Townsville residents. Kalkadoon applicants are encouraged to apply.

To be considered, it’s essential you hold a bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering with strong underground metalliferous mine engineering experience with proven technical knowledge and skills in mining engineering and scheduling.

On-site accommodation at Dugald River is fully air-conditioned en-suite rooms and includes meal service and room cleaning. The new village features, communal media facilities including 4G coverage, onsite Medical Centre, sporting and gym facilities. Remuneration for the role includes a competitive base salary and annual bonus.
