The Role:
We are currently looking for two experienced diamond core logging geologists to undertake a 12 month contract at our DeGrussa/Monty Copper mine. The role will report to the Senior Mine Geologist.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Accurately recording geological information from logging diamond core.
- Accurately inputting and verifying data into core logging software Ocris/Logchief.
- Communicating with Senior Geologist on any highlights and changes in the expected Geology.
- Completing Structural Logging.
- Reviewing core photo's, RQD and core mark-up for correctness.
- Validate logging when completed.
Key requirements for this role include:
- A bachelor degree in Geology.
- Strong technical skills in geological logging of diamond drill core.
- Experience in logging in VMS systems (Highly desirable)
- Effective time management skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Analytical skills
- Database management and data entry skills.
- Familiar with technical mining software preferably SURPAC (Preferred)
- Ability to work effectively in a small dynamic team.
- Ability to work autonomously.
This role is offered with family friendly 8:6, FIFO roster from Perth.
