PBE is seeking an innovative and hardworking Communications Technician who will bring solid communications maintenance/service experience to this fast-growing, global, private equity-backed manufacturing company.
This position supports the Engineering Manager and will be a strategic member of the Australian engineering team. The Communications Technician will be responsible for supporting PBE solutions and equipment for customers after implementation providing support.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Troubleshooting and maintaining customer installations in the field with the highest level of customer service
- Field installation and service of distributed antenna systems (leaky feeder)
- Light and heavy vehicle radio installations
- Bench repairs and testing of electronic/RF equipment
- Periodic checks in reliability of equipment
- Modifying existing equipment to meet customers' needs
- Equipment cabling and racking
- Antenna deployment and multi coupling
- Underground mining experience
- Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
- Significant experience working in radio communication systems
- Relevant trade qualification (in communications, radio or electronics)/ Radio Trades Certificate
- Two-way radio (analogue and digital) design, programming, licensing and troubleshooting
- Organises and coordinates work independently
- Experience in maintenance, testing and repair of tools and equipment
Working environment: Underground hard rock mining.
