About the Role

WorkPac have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate/ Trainee Surveyor  for our client based within Boggabri, NSW. This position will be a ongoing, full time position with a 5:2 roster and 8:6 roster for leave coverage.

The role includes completing daily tasks and activities required by the Planning and Operation Departments to ensure safety and production targets are met. The role requires an enthusiastic, energetic individual with a real desire to make a difference. The successful candidate will be exposed to the latest technology and techniques used.

 

Duties will Include:

  • To assist the survey team to organise and undertake survey functions in controlling and achieving mining production and civil work designs, plans and targets, and quantifying all mining and civil earthworks movements as required by the operations to improve business processes for the client and its employees and contractors.

  • To continue and deliver on technical studies and projects if applicable.

  • Ensure the ongoing verification of quality control for survey activities.

  • Assist with the planning & coordination of surveying task

  • Periodically audit and review spatial data records to ensure the currency and accuracy of data.

  • Provide operational and technical support through spatial data acquisition, design, and survey mark up as required.

  • Monitor the accuracy of the fleet GPS systems.
  • Maintain services pickups, excavation permits and plans as required.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Recently completed Degree in Bachelor of Spatial Science (Surveying) or equivalent or are due to complete in 2018/19

  • High level in computer literacy, Word and Excel skills

  • Willingness to cover Leave within the survey department which will include weekends
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the capability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Provisional P2 or full C class driving licence
