Our client is a world leader in providing engineered conveyer solutions for mining and industrial sectors. They pride themselves on being unencumbered by heavy bureaucracy, and work together to get the best result for their clients.
This OHS Advisor role provides the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and implement safety strategies through effective communication and strong relationships. This job will allow you to demonstrate both technical and interpersonal skills and take a step forward into a frontline OHS Advisory role with products and services into a high-risk industry.
Supporting four of the company’s offices, and the ability to support the delivery of the frontline delivery of installation/maintenance etc, you will need to be flexible with travel to other locations from Mackay. As you will be working within a heavier industry, you will be working with relevant risk profiles, such as manual handling, and working on breaking down the barriers for safety and the business units partnering more closely together. Important in this role will be your ability to build credibility and create pragmatic solutions in a fast-moving environment.
The Person
To be successful you must have demonstrated ability/experience with:
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, which are used to coach others and facilitate the use of safe practices
- Show ability to develop strong relationships in order to work collaboratively, delivering positive change and a safety maturity
- Be able to identify and manage employee, site and organisational risk and respond with delivery programs and systems
- Site visibility in order to inspect, monitor and evaluate HSE performance to ensure compliance
- Completing and conducting safety audits
- OHS experience in a heavy industry (such as mining/mining services) while being a strong preference, but isn’t mandatory.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Safety, Risk or similar
- Experience managing and working across a multi-site national organisation
The Rewards
This opportunity offers a competitive salary package, and a tool of trade vehicle to support the local travel.
It also reports directly into an experienced Safety General Manager, and working in a flat team structure located across Australia – you will have the opportunity to be a part of the continuously improving of the safety function, culture and performance of this excellent organisation.
