About the role
Billabong Gold currently have an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Geologist to build on their knowledge and gain practical experience at the new Hermes Open Pit operation. We are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who will work on an 8:6 FIFO roster to Plutonic.
The Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Supervision of ore extraction to minimise dilution and maximise recovery
- Ensuring the accurate marking up of ore blocks in the pits
- Accurate tracking of ore from mine to ROM
- Supervision of mining operators and contractors
- Logging RC drill chips for Grade Control programs
- Monitor QA/QC of sampling and assaying
- Geological pit mapping
- Maintain high levels of communication between geological personnel, engineers, surveyors and operational personnel on site; and
- Ensure compliance with all geology and site safe work procedures

Skills and experience
- Commitment to safety in the workplace
- Bachelor of Science, majoring in Geology
- Exposure to open pit mine production and environment preferred but not essential
- Familiarity/ exposure to Vulcan software
- Manual 'C' class drivers licence
- National Police Clearance; and
- Good communication skills
