About DMPL and the Dargues Gold Mine
The Dargues gold project is 100% owned by Diversified Minerals and is located approximately 12km south of Braidwood, and immediately north of Majors Creek in New South Wales, Australia. The Project will develop and operate a new underground mine, processing plant, tailings storage facility, and associated infrastructure and is targeting full production in 2019.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Diversified Minerals is seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager to coordinate the construction of key Project infrastructure, namely a gold processing plant, concentrate handling facility and site earthworks at the Dargues Gold Mine in Majors Creek, NSW.
Reporting to the General Manager, the preferred candidate will be responsible for the safe delivery of the construction of the Dargues Processing plant, tailings storage facility and associated infrastructure from completed design phase to final handover. Your focus areas will be an uncompromising attitude to safety, achieving project milestones, cost management, quality, risk management and efficient & effective communications with your team and stakeholders.
This will be a 15-month, fixed term contract, based in Braidwood or the surrounding area with relocation assistance available.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervising the safe and efficient planning and construction of all aspect of the Dargues Gold Mine,
- Develop/review detailed scopes, specifications, execution plans, cost estimates and schedule.
- Assist in finalising the business case in regard to contract structure and risk allocation.
- Working closely with the Processing and Mining Manager in regard to project execution and development
- Engagement, management and coordination of external construction and engineering contractors under the preferred contracting structure
- Monitor projects costs against budget and develop strategies as required to optimise costs and minimise negative cost impacts
- Delivery of the key Project infrastructure to the agreed milestones including commissioning and testing
- Monitor, report and manage the Project execution schedule and risks throughout the Project timeline
Drawing on your demonstrated experience in mining and processing plant project planning and delivery you will communicate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the project objectives are met.
ABOUT YOU
- An uncompromising approach to safety and environmental management
- Tertiary qualification in engineering or related discipline
- PMI certification or tertiary studies in Project Management
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
- 10 years minimum post graduate construction managment experience
- Extensive experience working within a mining environment
- Extensive experience in stakeholder management/engagement
- Multi-discipline engineering experience on relevant projects
