The primary objective of the Product Service Advisor is to support the Caterpillar Fleet to ensure maximum up time and product reliability and availability by working with planners and CAT engineers. Reporting to the Project Support Supervisor, the primary role is a hand's on role which requires you to carry out diagnosis, repairs and maintenance on the auxiliary fleet assigned to this project. Being a specialised position you need to work unsupervised and have sound mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
This position is working on a 9/5 FIFO roster from Perth and requires a qualified heavy diesel plant mechanic experienced with an extensive range of drill fleets; Sandvik, SKSS, Cubex and/or MD 6420B CAT drills
Job Duties:
- Maintaining the availability of Caterpillar Fleet on site and liaising with the client to ensure effective communication and site operations.
- Investigate and make recommendations to improve fleet performance at a site level.
- Diagnosis, repairs and maintenance on the auxiliary fleet
- Repairs and Maintenance on machine electrical systems
- Offer technical support for the Caterpillar fleet
- Offer mechanical support to WesTrac and customer technicians
- Undertake workshop based – machine service or repair as instructed by the customer
Essential Criteria:
- 5 years post trade experience as a Plant Mechanic
- Experience with CAT drill
- Extensive Caterpillar product knowledge
- Thorough understanding of electrical systems, schematics and proven diagnostics skills
- Previous experience in the Mining industry
- Valid current drivers licence
- Have sound customer relations skills
- Able to work unsupervised
- Requires excellent fault finding skills
- Must be a team player
Desirable Criteria:
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- HR licence
