About the site:

The ERA Ranger Mine is located approximately 250 kilometres east of Darwin, in the top end of Australia’s Northern Territory. The site and Jabiru Township are completely surrounded by Kakadu National Park. 
Veolia’s role is to process the water from the tailings dam so that it can be released into the local environment via a wetland. 

About the Role

An opportunity exists for two experienced and self-motivated Operator/Maintainers to join our team, one position with a mechanical trade and one with a electrical trade. The operation requires working on a 12 hour rotating shift roster system 7 days on followed by 7 days off.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Safe and efficient operation of the Brine Concentrator
• Understand all process, maintenance and operational issues occurring on a day-to-day basis
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and breakdown tasks as directed
• Assist in the planning of scheduled maintenance tasks
• Maintenance of workshop facilities and housekeeping
• Comply with all OHS procedures and requirements, including the issuing of permits to work
• Monitor plant operations and assist in plant optimisation
• Undertake sample collection and laboratory analysis
• Housekeeping duties
• Other initiatives and duties as required
• Undertake process troubleshooting and problem solving in liaison with the process team
• Identification of process improvements
• Active participation in daily pre-start meetings

Applicants must possess:

• Mechanical Trade Qualifications, or
• Electrical Trade Qualifications

Experience Required:

Mandatory

• Knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment in an industrial environment
• Quality and environmental awareness
• Computing and process control systems

Desirable

• Knowledge of water treatment processes
• Experience in water treatment plant operations
• Completion of water Treatment qualifications
• Knowledge and understanding of instrumentation calibration and maintenance
• Chemical handling and safety
• Laboratory and sample collections techniques
• Process plant operational experience

Please note that this position is located in Jabiru in the Northern Territory.  
The right candidate must be willing to FIFO from Darwin into Jabiru. The role is nominally 12 hours per day. 1 week (7 days) on followed by 1 week (7 days) off.
