About the Role:

  • Are you eager to learn and be involved with delivering energy market change?
  • Two permanent full-time opportunities and two fixed term contract opportunities to be based in our Melbourne, Norwest, Sydney or Brisbane Office
  • Develop and implement market change initiatives in the electricity and gas wholesale and retail markets and contribute to leading edge industry projects
  • Facilitate and contribute to the identification and analysis of initiatives that improve the wholesale and retail gas and electricity market rules, procedures, business processes and systems

Key accountabilities:

  • Carry out detailed analysis and consult with NEM and non-NEM market participants, regulators and policy makers on changes and improvements to gas and electricity retail and wholesale market rules, procedures and processes
  • Cultivate productive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide advice relating to market and procedural changes stemming from government requests, AEMC rule changes, industry reform and changes in internal processes
  • Develop proposals and industry consultation material
  • Contribute to the identification of market opportunities, barriers and risks

Required skills and experience: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • At least 2 years’ experience ideally within the energy or related regulated industry
  • This role requires strong multitasking skills as you will be working to multiple competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated writing skills to contribute to the development of reports, consultation papers and submissions
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Personal drive and ability to communicate with influence
