Position

We are seeking diverse and talented applications for our Specialist / Analyst - Analysis & Improvement (A&I) positions. This is an outstanding opportunity for Indigenous candidates to develop a dynamic and fulfilling professional career within the A&I and mining industry.

Reporting to the Superintendent Analysis & Improvement, within the Non Process Infrastructure (NPI) team, the Specialist Analysis & Improvement role will develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the Water, Camps & Aviation, and Housing portfolios, to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives. You will do this through leading and coordinating improvement initiatives that enable operational excellence and support business priorities around sustainability, culture and productivity.

You will be responsible for driving outcomes through your focus on identifying value through analysis and translating recommendations into tangible, achievable milestones and rallying others around you to deliver outcomes.

On any particular day, you will be reviewing key metrics, generating operational reports, identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies, engaging with key stakeholders, and executing improvement projects.

NPI maintains & operates assets across the West Australian Iron Ore (WAIO) operations, with over 2500 houses, 9000 village accommodation rooms & 15 water treatment plants. This is a diverse & growing portfolio, providing critical support infrastructure to BHP WAIO operations, with a large number of internal & external stakeholders.

Skills and Experience

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Degree qualification preferred; this may include technical disciplines (STEM), and/or finance or commercial degree
  • Experience leading and executing improvement initiatives, translating ideas into plans that are tangible and feasible, and communicating these across key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability in identifying and validating value accretive projects;
  • Understanding of Key Value Driver principles to enable targeted improvement opportunities
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and implementing change. This may be exhibited as leading through influence rather than leading through line authority
  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels
  • C Class Drivers Licence

You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’.
