Our client is a global organisation that services the mining and resources sectors across Australia. They have a reputable brand and a positive culture, and as a result of ongoing business success are now seeking a HSE professional to drive ‘safety excellence’ across multiple sites in Western Australia. This opportunity offers the chance to work on our client’s largest Australian contract, involving traveling out to site to monitor and establish strong links with operations. This role is not for the faint hearted and for the right individual it offers a chance to join a major multinational in a key management role.
Reporting directly to the National HSE Director, you will support to a team of HSE specialists as well as the relevant regional operational managers through the provision of specialist Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality services.
The person
To be successful you must bring:
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, which are used to lead a team of safety professionals and form strong links with all levels within the business.
- The ability to deliver deadlines on time whilst managing your own work schedule.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience in developing and implementing HSE systems and cultural change initiatives
- Broad HSE knowledge, including investigations, risk management and auditing
- Relevant safety qualifications
- Previous exposure to mining operations will be highly advantageous
