Working as a Principle Mining Engineer Consultant you will have a great opportunity to implement technical and/or operational process change to clients in the mining sector.
You will be working closely with mining and processing teams and involved with business development and mentoring team members to achieve Value Chain Optimisation using the latest software.
Client Details
Our client is an independent advisory and service that specialises in partnering with mine sites to improve production targets across the value chain.
They offer Mining Value Chain Optimisation for Brown Field, Green field and Operations. Their focus is to integrate geo, blasting, mining, comunition, mineral separation and waste disposal as part of their Vale Chain Optimisation strategy.
Description
This is a multifaceted role including but not limited to:
- Administration and finance elements such as managing client invoices and payments and frequent global travel at times for extended periods.
- Business development and client relationship management by developing long term relationships with Clients
- Marketing projects in the areas of mine design and mine to mill process optimisation, Blast optimisation and grade control.
- Interacting with research centers
- Technical Projects would include:
- Contributing to the development of a business plan
- Participating in the planning and implementation of consulting projects
- Mentoring and providing leadership to both clients and less experienced engineers
- Interacting with the internal business groups such as comminution, flotation and geometallurgy to identify and enhance cross-discipline interaction, synergies and, research and consulting opportunities.

Profile
Ideally you will have:
- Tertiary or postgraduate degree in a suitable discipline such as mining or geo-technical engineering.
- Minimum ten years’ experience in blasting or geo-technical engineering
- Proven experience working across the mine process value chain.
- Strong leadership experience managing teams of professional engineers.
- Good experience in the blasting software and practises
- Familiarity with geological modelling tools and mine planning software.
- Ability to apply the existing tools and if necessary develop new tools to provide expert advice within the Mine-to-Mill value chain.
- A demonstrable ability to integrate the key mining and processing activities at the planning stage to optimise mining operations.
- Experience in conducting field studies and collecting data in a safe and systematic manner.
- Strong experience in preparing technical reports.
- A strong understanding of the geometallurgical characterization of the rock mass and its integration in Block models.
- A demonstrable ability to plan and manage field work and collect data in a safe and systematic manner.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects
