Karara Mining Limited is a joint venture between Gindalbie Metals Limited and AnSteel, one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.
With an expected mine life of 30+ years, it will underpin a long-term iron ore business and provide sustainable benefits to the regional community we operate. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.
We require an experienced Maintainer Operator - Boilermaker to join the team based at the Geraldton Karara Export Terminal Operation. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring operational requirements are met to site standards of efficiency, quality and safety.
This role operates on an 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off continuous roster.
Key responsibilities;
- Contribute to the development of maintenance task work scopes in collaboration with the planning team assisting the improvement of equipment availability, reduction of downtime and prevent equipment failures
- Contribute to developing and improving job procedures for maintenance tasks
- Perform work to the specification and quality advised by equipment manufacturers
- Complete work to a high quality and escalate should there be equipment reliability concerns
- Contribute to a safe work environment, identifying and addressing risks/hazards and demonstrating positive safety behaviour
Key individual requirements;
- Boilermaker/Welder trade qualification
- Class 'C' 'Drivers License (WA)
- Tickets - Working in Confined Spaces & Working at Heights.
- Previous experience working in a maintenance processing plant environment in a boilermaker position or similar
- Demonstrated experience with process plant policies and procedures
- Proven understanding of risk assessment and management systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
