About the Project
This is your opportunity to join our dedicated Redpath team at one of the largest underground mines in Australia. Olympic Dam Mine, operated by the largest mining company in the world, BHP is approximately 550km North-West of Adelaide mining copper, gold and uranium. As part of the Redpath team you will be involved in the mining operation providing the safe delivery of development, ground support, services and equipment maintenance through the utilisation of 40 major items of plant, 3 maintenance workshops and specialist modern tooling. As the largest contractor on site you will gain valuable experience to help grow your career.
About the role
In this role you will be responsible for carrying out general mechanical work including repairs, attending breakdowns and service work in a workshop and underground environment to all light vehicles and when required to assist on heavy equipment. The role is based on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotating roster with 12 hour shifts. Locals from Roxby Downs are encouraged to apply of FIFO is available from Adelaide.
Duties
- Carry out scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs to all light vehicles and when required to assist with heavy equipment and fixed plant
- Perform fault finding, repairing and/ or replacing components as required
- Maintain light vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations and site requirements.
Skills & Experience
- Trade qualification as a Light Vehicle Mechanic
- Extensive underground experience working on Light vehicle equipment i.e. Toyota, Izusu
- Air con ticket highly desirable;
- Valid manual drivers licence;
- Strong fault finding & diagnostic skills;
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate – or ability to obtain one;
- A work ethic in keeping with Redpath's motto Consider it done.
