The Application Engineer - Tender Specialist will play a lead role in developing solar solutions for commercial and industrial solar projects. The role will be responsible for developing detailed tender responses, including review of contracts, identification of key business risks and treatments, development of concept designs, cost estimates and tender support documentations. The engineer will also be responsible for the optimised and efficient detailed design of commercial solar systems.
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop detailed responses to commercial solar tenders, including construction of detailed methodologies, processes, design and firm costing
- Review and address risks and non-compliances in the tender and associated contracts
- Develop commercial-grade solar system designs to achieve cost and performance optimised solutions based best-fit energy load-matched designs for both D&C and PPA offerings
- Develop detailed design ensuring correct configuration and protection requirements are met
- Liaise with Solar Business Development team and assist with technical and commercial development of Client offers
- Lead the technical aspects of solar PV tender processes including solar concept and detailed design, tender documentation and budget development associated with C&I projects
- Determine works/modifications necessary for full installation of PV system
- Carry out site inspections to be able to develop firm costings and methodologies for installation
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure that the most cost-effective solution is offered to the client
- Expert use of other engineering softwares such as PVSyst, Helioscope, for performance modelling

- System design from concept to detailed design of optimal solution
- Development of detailed tender responses and identification of key technical and commercial risks and non-compliances
- Development of Scope of Works, RFQ's, Costing & key equipment selection
- Internal liaison - with Origin's Business Development, Projects, Design, Procurement/Supply Chain, HSE, Commercial groups, to ensure that cost effective installation is achieved.
- External liaison with clients, consultants, electricity networks, stakeholders, equipment suppliers & sub contractors to ensure the project is delivered efficiently.
