The Role
Due to recent project wins the Digital Engineering team is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join our WA (Perth CBD) Energy Power team. This role within our Energy Power business provides drawing delivery to a broad range of Power Authority sector projects across many clients.
To be successful in this role, candidates will have experience in design drafting using AutoCAD and Microstation software, the ability to work in a team environment and deliver in a timely and efficient manner. Strong data management along with effective communication skills is essential for this role.
About You
- Comprehensive understanding of working in a design office and preparation of engineering design drawings
- Excellent design and drawing checking ability
- Demonstrated experience in delivering Primary, Secondary & Automation drawings is essential
- Undertakes, manages and produces appropriate 2D CAD model production, documentation and other technical work tasks to agreed deadlines, schedule, standards (AECOM, client and project), and in accordance with the project plan
- Contribute to a complete and integrated set of digital project content including documents by working co-operatively with team members.
- Liaise with the Engineers and Drafters to ensure timely delivery of design drawings, whilst maintain, develop, and retain the highest standard of technical design skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Ability to provide technical expertise to suit client needs
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microstation essential
- Knowledge of other software such as ProjectWise and MS Office Suite (specifically Excel and Word)
- Experience working with Power Utilities;
- Experience in primary and secondary substation design
- Knowledge of protection schemes
- Knowledge of secondary plant technologies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering;
- Minimum 5 years design experience
