Environment and Community Officer

Glendell/Hunter Valley near Singleton

 

An opportunity exists for an Environment and Community Officer to join a large open-cut coal operation in the Hunter Valley. Reporting to the Environment and Community Manager you will provide technical advice and operational support relating to environmental management and community relations for the Mt Owen/Glendell Operations.

 

Your role will be focused primarily on air quality, noise, biodiversity and offset management and other land management related activities. The role will also include supporting the maintenance of the Environmental Management System, compliance reporting and advice to operational areas on improvement opportunities, project management and participation in monitoring programs.

 

With tertiary qualifications in environmental science, engineering or similar and relevant experience, you will have a sound understanding of the environment and community aspects of the mining industry; a working knowledge of NSW legislative requirements and possess excellent communication and computer skills.
