About the business and the role
Due to continued growth we are seeking a Plant Operator/Maintainer – Water Treatment. To be successful in this roll you will have experience in previous positions including the use of standard field equipment, tests, methods, procedures and protocols and water sampling/testing. This is a "hands on" role.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Understanding of Australian Water Quality Guidelines and criticality of Regulatory driven wastewater discharge requirements.
- Monitoring and carrying out daily plant inspections on the various work fronts of the fixed plant operations, and report/repair any defects found during inspections
- Record operations data and information, making observations and reporting on variations in operating condition.
- Maintain logs and other required reports and forms.
- Provide input for corrective actions and implement corrective actions as directed.
- Comply with site rules and regulations at all time
- Maintain operational competencies and continue self-development
- Obtain samples and analyse conditions, make necessary systems adjustments to improve treatment and/or quality.
- Ensure regulatory compliance integrity of all plant processes while ensuring plant/ equipment is in a safe condition at all times.
- Maintain communications with internal and external stakeholders.
- Promptly respond to facility as applicable and tend to alerts or issues.
- Assist in efforts to maintain efficient and cost effective facility operations while maintaining compliance with all environmental, health and safety rules and requirements.
- Assist in maintaining grounds, buildings, equipment and general housekeeping at and around treatment facilities.
Skills and experience
- A "Can Do" attitude and mindset.
- Previous experience as a Water Treatment Operator.
- Hands on experience preferably with a mechanical or electrical trade qualification.
- You will be a result driven individual who can work well in a team environment.
- Ability to self-manage and work alone.
- The ability to direct, follow direction and lead workers.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- High level of planning and problem-solving ability.
To be successful in this role you will be required to follow a continually improve disciplined process whilst being flexible to adapt and respond to changes.
