Warrikal is an Indigenous owned mechanical engineering service provider focusing on the delivery of maintenance and project works within the mining and resources sector throughout WA. Whilst we expand our footprint throughout the resources sector we are eager to speak with motivated and driven individuals with an appetite for career progression and growth within this industry.
To support our growth we are looking for an HSE advisor to join our operational team across the Pilbara. The role will be engaged on a casual basis FIFO from Perth. The successful candidate will primarily support the leadership group on-site to ensure that HSE functions are performed and managed in accordance with legislative requirements and Warrikal's policies and procedures.
Your responsibilities:
- Manage HSE duties to provide an injury-free workplace.
- Maintain and foster a working environment which prompts lateral thinking.
- Implement HSE initiatives.
- Facilitate site-based project inductions and awareness training.
- Develop qualitative risk assessments.
- Conduct internal audits and workplace inspections.
- Liaise with sub-contractors to provide guidance on HSE compliance.
- Facilitating compliance with hazard and materials risks management.
- Communicate HSE expectations and requirements during pre-start and client meetings.
- Provide immediate support for incident investigations, hazard management and follow-up on closeout actions.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- Minimum of 5 years FIFO experience in the mining and resource sector.
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Lead Auditor qualification.
- Formal incident investigation training (TapRoot, Essential Factors or Icam)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to review and update an HSE Program.
- Sound knowledge of risk management.
- Ability to convey HSE requirements on an ad-hoc basis.
