The Role & The Team

In order to support our operational growth through 2018, we are seeking a suitably qualified Senior Mine Surveyor to join our expanding Wodgina operation in the Pilbara.

This key role will form part of the senior leadership team on site and will be pivotal in proving mentoring and coaching to drive continuous improvement across the site. This will include being able to identify, quantify and manage risk and opportunities across all areas of responsibility to ensure maximum output for the team.

Your Responsibilities & Duties

• Measuring total volumes of material moved
• Pegging out areas to be mined
• Measuring quantities of material blasted
• Surveying mine configuration
• Locating blast and exploration drill holes
• Deliver valuation profit for MRL
• Demonstrate a detailed understanding of relevant costs and analyse to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Reduce Accident Damage
• Identify, quantify and manage risks and opportunities across all areas of responsibility
• Ensure that assets are managed effectively to achieve budget utilisation rates across the mine.   Analyse trends and develop minimisation strategies.
• Use initiatives to look for better ways to meet and improve financial performance targets
• Prepare for and attend Committee Meetings. Complete all actions within the required timeframe

Your Experience & Skills

• Diploma or higher in Engineering Surveying
• It is essential you hold a minimum of a Grade-2 Authorisation
• 7 – 10 years’ experience in a mining environment
• Conversant with Surpac Mining software, Trimble and Leica GPS and Total Stations
• Demonstrated experience in stockpile volume survey and calculations for EOM reconciliation
• Tertiary qualification in surveying
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Experience working with drones will be highly regarded, but not essential
