About your role

You would assist with the effective delivery of a scheduled program of works as part of the maintenance program for the water supply, sewerage plants, pump stations, and other facilities throughout the network delivered by contractors and Icon Water employees. 

What does the role look like?

  • Management of contractors, supervising works assignments, evaluating performance and processing payments
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant acts, legislation and standards to maintain health and safety of employees, contractors and public, and sound environmental practice
  • Participate in site investigations of major incidents and communicate appropriate information as well as ensuring all remedial actions are implemented
  • Implement continuous improvement, lead and direct change initiatives as required to improve business performance.

What we are looking for (Selection Criteria)

  • Relevant trade-based qualification, or technical certificate or diploma in relevant discipline (mechanical, electrical or civil)
  • Proven experience in management/supervision of contractors, ensuring compliance with relevant codes of practice and industry standards
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of water supply and sewerage networks, systems and operation, including treatment processes.
  • An understanding of a commitment to site safety in the construction industry, along with understanding of incident management and investigation
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies including ability to develop a scope of works, describing and specifying requirements, including the ability to estimate quantities and costs. This knowledge would be desirable.
