Weir Minerals Australia LTD, a member of the Weir Group PLC, is the market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of slurry pumps and allied minerals processing equipment to the mining industry, both within Australia and throughout the world.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated Service Specialist located in Kalgoorlie. The purpose is to support the Weir Minerals business through the effective Service Sales in Aftermarket support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensures Customers receive first-class customer care and service as measured via the Weir Net Promoter System (NPS), where customer feedback is monitored and action plans put in place bridge any Gaps in the Customers perception of Weir Minerals.
  • You will be supporting the Area Manager network in winning service jobs, tendering large service contracts and supporting the customer bases of mining, waste water, oil & gas and industrial facilities.
  • This position is not just responsible for generating input for our Kalgoorlie facility but has a large travel component across all the Goldfields to generate service work for our Henderson branch.
  • Regular detailed measurement of TOC “Total Ownership Costs”, whereby reporting of current TOC, improvement and savings is a routine activity.
  • Provide accurate quarterly budgeting and forecasting activities, with new business development delivering growth year on year. 
  • Develop and achieve growth and aftermarket retention strategies that cascade down into site specific objectives customised to individual customers’ needs.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of industry processes, competitors and commercial influences.
  • Expectation to be the voice of the customer within WMA to bring about the best result.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that you operate on a day to day basis in a way that complies and promotes with the company’s policy and procedure and within the WMA Safety standards.

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in mining industry
  • Minimum of 2 years experience within similar role, managing over $ 4M Of products and services
  • Ability to think analytically and strategically to plan ahead for possible future events
  • Ability to think creatively, on the run
  • Effective organisational skills for planning
  • Effective negotiator to bring about the best outcome, should conflict arise with Customers.
  • Sound communication skills
  • A strong commitment to ensuring that all internal & external customers are delivered excellent service.

Desirable:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Diploma, Degree or Trade).
  • Relevant business-related tertiary qualifications.
  • Experience with a mid to large Company.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing/Engineering business.
