The Bloomfield Group are currently looking to appoint a Reliability Engineer to join their Asset Management team in a newly created role. This role is responsible for working with key stakeholders across the Group, and within the Asset Management Team to drive safe, effective, low cost, productive plant and equipment strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support, guidance and recommendations on the management of the Group’s asset reliability and maintainability risks that could adversely affect safety, plant or operations
  • Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect mobile plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues
  • Provide technical support to production, maintenance management and engineering personnel
  • Play a leading and collaborative role in risk assessment for any significant strategy change in machine or maintenance activities
  • Guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, and facilities
  • Supervising and coordinating investigations into identified issues or concerns with particular machinery
  • Consult with the Asset Management and Group Engineering teams, to collect and analyse maintenance data such as Pulse, oil sample results, MVRS, Product Link, RAC, VIMS, Infofleet and component condition indicators and as required from varying sources, and use to provide change recommendations and preventative maintenance direction to the sites
  • Analysing available data to provide recommendations for component replacement frequency and rebuild/renew strategies
  • Analysis of mobile equipment cost drivers, down time and availabilities to produce reports, graphs and presentations that support recommendations for structural improvement in machine unit cost and performance
  • In conjunction with the operational team perform analyses of assets including Asset Utilisation and overall equipment effectiveness. Assist the Plant and Equipment Manager with data to be utilised in Red Button EUC modelling for equipment and operational optimisation
  • Assist the Asset Management Team by providing data to aid the efficient and effective warranty management of components
  • Manage new machine warranty in conjunction with site utilising data from the Asset Management Team, Pulse and machine health systems
  • Responsible for robust and quality formation of scopes of work to Group standards
  • Supervising a variety of projects as required

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
  • Tertiary qualification in relevant Engineering discipline or relevant industry experience
  • Minimum 10 years Engineering experience in a heavy engineering environment, with exposure in a mining, construction, or OEM environment preferred
  • Experience in the management of asset reliability risks and implementation of maintenance strategies in a mining or similar environment
  • Working knowledge of best practice reliability methodologies and standards of practice
  • Excellent technical knowledge and skills, including a broad understanding of operational and maintenance requirements and engineering standards of practice
  • Strong track record of successfully completing projects in mining, or similar industry
  • Experience in working to budget expectations, and working on capital projects
  • Excellent analytical skills for data analysis and solution proposing
  • Effective problem solving and decision making skills
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and a “team-oriented” approach to the achievement of projects
  • Strong technical writing abilities
  • Results driven with strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Asset Management software (preferably Pulse), Microsoft Office and general computer skill
