Seeking an experienced Geologist for a contract position in an Underground Metalliferous Mine
Your new company
With operational sites in Queensland and across Australia, this mining house ensures strategic forward planning approaches are taken to its mining methods. This mining house situated in North West Queensland requires an experienced Mine Geologist for a contract role.
Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Mining Geologist will be responsible for the design and supervision of underground drilling activities, data management and reporting, monitoring stopes and stope tonnes, grade control and grade evaluation, core logging and processing.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have a relevant tertiary qualification within Geology and have a background working within the mining industry, ideally within an underground metalliferous mine. You will have prior experience in underground mining development and production and have strong working knowledge of 3D Geological mining software. Along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will work with a sense of urgency and have high attention to detail.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be rewarded with an excellent hourly rate on an initial 4 month contract with a chance for extension, working an 8:6 roster. This role is being offered FIFO from Townsville/Cairns/Brisbane, accommodation will be provided while you are out on site.
