We currently have an opportunity to join our Network Mains Design team at Moruya. 

The Role:

We are looking for qualified and experienced Distribution Mains Designer. The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Associate Degree of Electrical Engineering (Power/Electrical) or Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in a Network Mains Design engineering role in the Energy/Electrical and/or Utilities Industry
  • Demonstrated experience with utilising analytical and technical knowledge to provide appropriate solutions to planned and unplanned technical/engineering issues in the Energy Network Technical environment
  • A complete knowledge and application of current Network Mains Design philosophies, procedures, statutory requirements and Electrical Safety Rules
  • Excellent skills in computer operation and business systems including industry standard CAD software and Overhead Line Design programs.

We would also consider persons with a trade background in the Energy/Electrical and/or Utilities industry who would be interested in a Trainee Technical Officer role. To be successful you will have:

  • A basic knowledge of current design philosophies, procedures, statutory requirements and electrical safety
  • A strong ability to identify appropriate solutions to technical issues in the Energy Network Technical environment
  • Awareness or experience in project management processes and methodologies.
  • Competent skills in computer operation and business systems including CAD software
  • Strong time management skills with excellent planning and organisational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation
  • A flexible, self-motivated and well organised approach managing a varying complex workload
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver technical services in a professional and timely manner
  • Certificate III in ESI or equivalent Certificate III Electrical Trade qualification.
