Gap Geophysics Australia is a progressive technology developer and service provider to the mineral exploration and environmental geophysics industries. We are seeking a motivated, experienced Geophysical Field Technician to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager - Operations, you will work cooperatively as part of a team to execute geophysical surveys.
Your responsibilities will include digging electrode pits, laying out & winding in wire, walking upwards of 20km/day over several days at a time. You will provide practical field assistance, which includes maintaining, operating and cleaning equipment and vehicles.
Important to the role will be:
•Current ‘C’ Driver’s Licence
•Experience in operating a 4WD vehicle safely (ticket required)
•Experience in operating an ATV safely (ticket required)
•Current Apply First Aid Certificate
•Strong understanding & experience in operating hand-held GPS
•Good understanding of co-ordinate systems commonly used in Australia
•Mechanical & technical competence
As a successful candidate, you will have strong demonstrated background in a similar role, a team player with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. You must be fluent in English.
You will take initiative, be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision but also be willing to follow direction. You will have a positive attitude and maintain a high level of physical fitness.
