Overview

This position will effectively coordinate a team of Supervisors, Tradesmen, Trades Assistant and support staff to oversee preventative maintenance and repairs are carried out on a wide range of open cut mining support equipment, including a crane fleet, to achieve maximum equipment availability and reliability. 

In this role you will:

• Coach, lead and develop the workforce team’s technical knowledge and establish & monitor technical systems to ensure the maintenance of all lifting and ancillary equipment;

• Review and monitor maintenance strategies for continuous improvement and identify ideas for improvements in equipment maintenance, maintenance methods and administrative tasks;

• Manage internal stakeholders within Supply to ensure that an adequate stock of components and manage external stakeholders through monthly contractor review meetings to monitor contractor performance and KPI targets;

• Prepare strategic plans for the maintenance of the lifting equipment workshop, including budget, allocation of resource requirements and scheduling of work to achieve the required output from the team;

• Support and contribute to the departmental safety plan by promoting and implementing safe operating procedures in accordance with Newcrest guidelines;

• Team management, setting the environment for people to perform their tasks fully and develop their capabilities.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be safety focused, team oriented and enjoy continuous improvement and driving for results. You will have:

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience post trade in a maintenance role in lifting or ancillary equipment including exposure to crane maintenance from either the construction, transport or mining industry;

• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage maintenance work groups in a technically challenging maintenance environment with a minimum of 5 Years Supervisory experience;

• Well developed written and verbal communication skills in English and previous experience working with a diverse cultural workforce would be highly regarded;

• Experience with SAP and MS Office is desirable.

Appropriate trades certificate and Management Certificates or Diploma is a must for this role.
