We are pleased to have RecruitWest as a partner as we commence our next project, Aldiss, and expand the team for our long term future at the Mount Monger operations.

We are inviting applications for the position of Production Mining Engineer for our new Aldiss project which currently comprises of two open pits and is located approximately 120klm north east of Kalgoorlie.

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, the role of the Open Pit Production Engineer is to issue technical advice for improving mining methods including focus around drill and blast design using Surpac software for Silver Lake Resources - Aldiss Project.
This is achieved through long term (12 months to LOM) mine planning, monitoring production data and providing clear mining direction to the operations' team.
 
It is therefore essential applicants can demonstrate the following:

• Review production data to improve drill and blast plans to minimise cost and maximise fragmentation
• Design of Open Pits and mining infrastructure that maximises the economic potential of the ore body for approval by the Quarry Manager
• Prepare and present weekly production plans, monitoring progress against plan
• Produce reports, procedures and presentations as required
• Generate quarterly forecasting of activities monthly in EPS.
• Ensure LOM designs are provided at optimal times, maintaining & updating the economic model of the LOM plan weekly and quarterly
• Perform conceptual studies on new ore bodies and/or new areas within Silver Lake Resources
• On occasion, cover the statutory role of Deputy Quarry Manager.
• Demonstrate Health, Safety & Environment leadership.
• Ensure 100% compliance with HSE and other company policies.

Essential Qualifications and attributes

• Qualifications in Mining Engineering.
• At least 5 years demonstrated open pit Mining Engineer experience.
• Understanding statutory requirements of the WA Mining Act and Regulations as well as OSH Act
• Experienced in using mining technical software Studio 3, MSO, NPVS, Surpac, EPS, 5D Planner, 2D Bench.
• Demonstrated planning acumen and mining technical capacity
• Ability to asses mining working conditions and environment
• Quarry Manager's certificate of competency (preferred)
• Strong interpersonal, communication and time management skills
• Current WA Drivers Licence
