Responsibilities of the role:
- Checking and changing consumables and greasing drill rig safely using correct manual handling techniques.
- Achieves budget pen rate consistently and in a safe manner.
- Ensure drill pressures are set to minimise consumable usage and ware.
- Operate Drills within OEM specifications and recommendations
- Drill logs, time sheets and other paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Blast holes are drilled accurately according to the blast design.
- Touching up mark ups and dipping holes safely using correct manual handling techniques and in a timely manner.
- Assisting shotfirers where required.
- Carry out any other tasks as directed by the Drill and Blast Supervisor.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- 2+ years' experience in blast hole drilling with the use of CAT or GD 5000 drill rigs or similar
- Current WA Shotfirers ticket
- Current Dangerous Goods card
- Current WA Driver licence (LR minimum)
- Experience in open cut mining operations
- High attention to detail
- Commitment to safety in the workplace
