Our Operations

One of Australia's largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. This role is a 7x7 Roster based at Olympic Dam site, with FIFO from Adelaide or Roxby Downs residential options available.  Adelaide or Roxby downs, both offer quality standard of living without the high costs of most other Australian large cities.

About the role

Our Technology Function consists of Technology Partners who work closely with our Assets and Operations to drive improvement in safety, volume and cost through the application of world class technology. Global teams leading innovation support our Partners, accelerating technology delivery and driving functional excellence.

Reporting to the Superintendent Project Delivery, you will be accountable primarily for the successful execution and delivery of the mine underground telecommunications project. You will also be involved with projects in a diverse range of mine production systems technologies including mining fleet management, digital radio systems, control systems and production management systems that support Olympic Dam across our entire value chain.

In this role you will:

  • Supervise telecommunications project contractors & service providers on the mine surface & underground.
  • Prepare shift handover reports and collate contractor & service provider timesheets & progress reports whilst at site.
  • Organize any inductions, travel and site accommodation requirements for the program Team, project visitors, contractors or service providers
  • Align and co-ordinate site resources with project schedules / Mine Operations plans and vice versa
  • Ensure all conducted work is in alignment with cybersecurity and strategic design standards.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered to budget, schedule and agreed customer expectations.
  • Perform Testing, document interpretation and performance of systems against testing procedures such as automated testing scripts, test harnesses and workflow integrated processes.
  • Demonstrate ability to assist Release Management in migrating work through Dev, Test, QA, Prod or via Dev-Beta-Prod.
  • Formulate Standardized installation practices and work instructions
  • Ensure projects are ready for operational support/service delivery.
  • Be compliant with the requirements of mines safety acts and/or regulations in accordance with the relevant country, state, region or county.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and application of associated Management of Change processes and records.
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety and the environment.

About you:

  • Minimum 5 years project management / supervision experience in all aspects of project delivery
  •  Preference of Prince 2, PMBOK trained and / or PMI, CAPM, or AIPM certified;
  •  Ability to use Microsoft Project for development of simple project schedules that identify critical path, dependencies, work effort and allocation of people to tasks; and
  • Highly developed use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel for presentation and analysis of project information.
