Lean Specialist Excellent leadership and development opportunity Be part of a global mining organisation with an exceptional safety culture FIFO from Perth – 4 days on, 3 days off - Argyle Diamond Mine About the roleWe are looking for a Lean Specialist to support the business through application and coaching of lean practices and execution of improvement projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional to effect real change across the full value chain of an underground mine and process plant. The Business Strategy & Planning team is accountable for the execution of Business Improvement activities at Argyle. Primarily this includes execution of the Copper & Diamond Group’s Lean strategy and coordination of Argyle’s productivity and cash improvement program to enable the delivery of life of mine free cash flow targets.This role is a great opportunity and is critical to the success of the next chapter in the long and proud history of Argyle. The mine is now entering an exciting phase and with a strong focus on safety, cost and operational improvements will provide a rewarding work environment. Working a 4 days on, 3 days off roster and reporting to Business Planning & Strategy Manager, you will:Coach in the application of lean to develop the leadership and problem solving capabilities of our frontline staff to our management team Facilitate problem solving ranging from multiple day Kaizens for business wide issues to fixed time problem solving at the frontline Identify & execute business wide improvement initiatives About youTo be successfully considered for this role, you will have:Demonstrated success in the application of formal problem solving methodologies A practical and resilient approach to change and the management of change Ability to influence across the full organisational structure A Lean qualification (or a demonstrated understanding of lean principles) coupled with an operational leadership or technical role A passionate belief in lean and its ability to simply and improve safety and productivity A resilient personality that is excited by the challenge that an operation moving to closure provides Where you will be workingRio Tinto owns and operates the Argyle diamond mine in the remote East Kimberley region of Western Australia. The mine has been operating since 1983 and has produced more than 800 million carats of rough diamonds.
