About the role

The Specialist Communication is an expert in the field of network and wireless communication implemented in the Production System environment at Olympic Dam.

Supporting the end to end service within the sub functions and assists the business in meeting its objectives by providing a stable, reliable and secure environment.

This role supports the maintenance and telecommunication platform strategies and schedules within the area of responsibility for all deployed technologies to ensure the communication infrastructure is maintained in compliance with work instructions and defined processes.

This position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7x7 roster schedule, with residential or FIFO options available.

Please note this is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

In this role you will:

 

  • Ensure day to day availability and maintenance of the CCTV, Wireless Telemetry and Control Systems, Digital Radio, Network & Server Infrastructure, along with Desktop services.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to support teams to resolve priority issues;
  • Identifying and implementing initiatives that contribute to current and potential value to the business from a Site Operations perspective, ensuring compliance to the Change Management Procedure;
  • Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions associated with the work orders;
  • Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability;
  • Responsible for the execution of safe systems of work, utilising existing work management processes;
  • Ensure adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process;
  • Ensure an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Take an active role in the safety culture within the Production Systems Operations team.
  • Ensure returns of unused or repairable materials are processed accurately.
  • Validate quality of work performed prior to completion.
  • Strict adherence to relevant Management of Change processes.
  • Ensure no disruption to operations resulting from RF, CCTV, Network and Communication Systems based activities.
  • Executes 1SAP Work Management and Service Management operational processes to drive consistent service delivery for the entire scope of accountabilities.

 

About you:

 

  • Trade certificate in Communications/RF/Electronics/Industrial Electrical or similar Engineering/Control systems qualifications.
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Digital radio certifications, Business or related discipline or equivalent IT/OT experience.
  • CISCO Certification such as CCNA certification.
  • Windows 7/10 enterprise support.
  • Open/ unrestricted cabling license
  • A proven track record of safety management
  • High degree of competence with Industrial (strong preference in Mining Industry) Network and communication systems design, development, deployment, transition and support.
  • Computer based CAD design and/or digital design desirable
