Chandler Macleod is currently looking for a Principal Professional Services for our client South32. Based in Perth CBD, this 10 month contract role is a fantastic opportunity to apply your expertise and knowledge in professional services within the resource sector and contribute to the success of a globally diversified mining and metals business.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide leadership to the team to ensure the market alignment with the Functions and Operation’s Supply needs, take responsibility for supplier management and development and engage with the team to track and monitor performance targets
- Ensure business continuity and optimal commercial outcomes are achieved through the management of spending for commercial and professional services (consulting, labour hire, white-collar labour, travel, HR, marketing, business development, business improvement, M&A, etc; and other key contractual terms of contracts)
- Identify value opportunities to optimise spending across the category
- Build and maintain a professional networking base with customers and suppliers
- Develop overall mid to long-term category and sourcing strategies
- Lead commercial contract negotiations with vendors for contracts
- Work closely with senior level stakeholders (VPs, Senior Leadership Team and VP Ops) to seek endorsement and approvals
- Monitor contracts and expectations and apply Supply Category Management processes within the team to support compliance with local requirements
- Lead, coach and support cross functional team members to ensure achievement of performance targets
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Bachelor degree in business, commerce, finance, engineering or similar
- At least 7 years’ experience within a commercial/ Supply environment, professional services, corporate services and travel experience will be highly regarded
- Proven experience in developing commercial strategies and leading high value strategic negotiations
- Complex knowledge and understanding of professional and corporate services markets
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
