About the role:
Being the focal point, you will liaise with various corporate groups (such as Risk and Governance, Asset Systems, Information Systems, and the corporate Training & Development group) to plan for and facilitate any required activities across the site. You will identify and deliver measurable outcomes as part of a continuous improvement process, to bridge any identified gaps, facilitate change and embed new systems and technological tools.
Based on site in the Bowen Basin or Brisbane with regular site travel, this role is a Monday to Friday roster.
In this role you will:
• Providing governance to maintain compliance to the Legislation and related standards;
• Assist with audits and provide guidance on safety and/or risk management related matters;
• Providing assistance for risk, assurance and compliance activities;
• Being a part of the Implementation, governance and quality control of asset systems;
• Identifying and delivering in the facilitation of risk assessment process;
• Delivering a Standard to manage the effectiveness of fatalities and critical controls;
• Advising on continuous improvement opportunities, performing risk assessments evaluating regulatory compliance programs and reporting; and
• Providing governance authority over the management of Asset wide documents and providing guidance on proposed changes to Site wide SHMS documents.
• Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety, Engineering or a related field;
• Experience maintaining and improving risk and safety management systems;
• Understanding of regulatory bodies, governance and risk management through risk assessments/execution and leading the risk management process;
• Develop, encourage and support a small site team to execute activities and deliver business visibility across all systems and training;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence health, safety and training outcomes; and
• Ability to organise and manage competing demands and priorities.
