Karridale Group Pty Ltd is a leading services provider to the Australian Resources Industry specialising in major mine site structural, mechanical and piping installations and maintenance.
Karridale Group invites applications for the following position to join our team at the Sino Iron Project on a 2/1 FIFO roster:
- Lab Metallurgical Technician - Production
The Role:
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Lab Metallurgical Technicians to join our Operating Team at the Sino Iron Project. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant and associated equipment to achieve production targets and high plant availability.
Key requirements for this role include:
- Metallurgical tests including magnetic separation, filtration and sizing
- Responsible for loading/unloading, sorting and weighing samples into dry racks maintaining numerical order
- Responsible for crushing, milling samples and transferring sub-samples to sample packets while maintaining numerical order and following established quality control procedures and avoiding contamination
- Previous mineral laboratory experience
- Manual weighing and manual fuse test beads for XRF assay work
- Experienced in Laser sizing operation (MS2000 and MS3000)
- Ensure that internal QA/QC standards are met
- Sample preparation
- Strong problem solving ability
- Fine attention to detail
- Experience in prestart checks, troubleshooting and auditing
- Good communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills
- Strong safety culture (includes good housekeeping)
- Preferred HAG and LIMS systems
The successful candidate must possess following:
- Ability to speak mandarin (will be an added advantage)
- Certificate in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent experience
- Mineral Processing /HAG system / XRF background
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
Additional requirements for working at the Sino Iron Project include:
- The ability to pass Pre-employment Medical and D&A Testing
- Willingness to be clean shaven for the use of P2 respirators
