In response to the increased demand for our hydrogeological services, AMC Consultants is looking for a full time permanent Principal Hydrogeologist to build and lead the hydrogeology group, working in our Perth office. Based in West Perth, you will work with a group of highly experienced mining professionals on exciting high-profile projects globally, both underground and open pit.

Who you will be working with and reporting to

Ruth Stephenson, Geotechnical Manager Perth / Principal Geotechnical Engineer who has been with AMC for six years. She has a broad range of experience and a comprehensive understanding of underground geotechnical engineering, geotechnical data collection, stope stability analysis, and geotechnical risk management. Ruth will oversee your technical progress and development. 

Anastasia Boronina is a Principal Hydrogeologist working in the Perth office. She has been with AMC since April this year. Anastasia's primary expertise is in groundwater flow and transport modelling. Anastasia is highly experienced in quantitative hydrogeology and field investigations, mine dewatering assessment and optimization, groundwater exploration and supply assessment, groundwater impact assessment, groundwater resource evaluation and management. You will work closely with Anastasia (and others) on hydrogeology projects which are often part of larger mining studies.

Now a bit more information about the role

Specialist skills and tasks required:

• Must have a background in the field of geology.
• Must have worked in consulting on mining projects including environmental, dewatering and depressurisation studies.
• Capabilities should include:
  • Capable to design and supervise field investigation programs for feasibility studies at various levels of study.
  • Competent in scoping hydrogeology work for mining projects.
  • Sound technical capabilities including groundwater conceptualisation, water balance and numerical modelling.
  • Report writing skills.

Qualifications required:

• Must have at least 20 years of hydrogeology experience.
• Minimum BSc in hydrogeology/geology.
• A postgraduate degree in hydrogeology would be an advantage.

The salary package offered for this position will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
