We are currently seeking an EHST Manager – APAC to manage the EHST function for all Asia Pacific operations of the Boart Longyear business.


The primary purpose of this role is to partner with the operations team to build on our existing safety culture whilst delivering Environment, Health, Safety and Training (EHST) performance improvement. The successful candidate will be experienced in driving strategic and operational accountability for EHST management systems and programs. This role is responsible for managing a team of field based EHST Advisors based in the Asia Pacific region. The position could be based in Perth or Adelaide.

 

Key Role Outputs EHS:
•    Demonstrate a strategic approach in the delivery of EHST performance improvements across the Asia Pacific operations. 
•    Develop EHS plans, programs and procedures to meet and comply with client, company and government legislation.
•    Lead field staff to help manage client performance expectations and maintain necessary compliance documentation
•    Build EHS capability within operational teams through provision of EHS information, training and coaching.
•    Analyze and report EHST performance data and identify risk trends and improvement opportunities.
•    Conduct audits, inspections, incident investigations, risk assessments as required 
•    Oversee Critical Risk Review preparations, actions and presentations to regional and EXCO members
•    Development of tenders and site-specific Safety Management Plans.
•    Interact with client safety representatives, as required, and promote Boart Longyear’s delivery of safe profitability and growth.

 

Key Role Outputs Training: 
•    Work closely with the regional team and operations to ensure timely and solid implementation of internal and external training programs and initiatives.
•    Liaise with management and supervisors to ensure that employees attend training as required.
•    Perform on-site observations periodically to assess training effectiveness.

 

University Degree or Diploma in OHS with emphasis in industrial and OHS regulatory laws and compliance is essential. Certificate IV Training and Assessment will be highly regarded, combined with the following capability requirements:

 

•    Minimum of 5 years of field-related experience in the Drilling Services industry or equivalent mining experience.
•    Ability to lead teams by delegating tasks where accountability for project delivery is paramount  
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Builds trusted relationships across the business.
•    Effective time and priority management. 
•    Computer literate in the use of MS Office tools and EHS Management System databases
•    Willingness to travel, as required, to work sites, including periods away from home.
•    Valid Driver’s license with safe driving history
