UGL are currently seeking applications for a highly experienced HES (Health, Safety, Quality) Advisors to assist one of our leading Iron Ore clients on shutdowns and maintenance projects to commence ASAP for a minimum 3 month casual contract (day shift only). 
 
The HSQ Advisor position will be supporting the client during the project to ensure all HES requirements are met during this time.
 
Main responsibilities for the role include:

  • Review, provide advice and assist with implementation of risk management strategies on site
  • Provide support and advice to Supervisors and employees to achieve HES objectives
  • Ensure compliance with the inspection and audit requirements as per the approved UGL HESMP and CHESM requirements
  • Ensure that all employees and subcontractors conform to site safety management policies and procedures
  • Lead by example at promoting HES at every opportunity
  • Collating HES data to support the UGL and CHESM reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with the UGL Critical Risk Control Protocols
  • Audit work packs to ensure JHA's and other hazard identification processes are completed prior to the commencement of work
  • Conduct onsite HES inductions & site orientations
  • Roll out and support UGL and the clients HES programs as required
  • Incident and Hazard reporting
  • Collate HAZOB reports and submit them in to the client’s database and UGL incident/hazard reporting database
  • Lead and or assist in onsite investigations (experience with ICAM methodology would be highly beneficial) 
  • Ensure actions are effective and closed out within time periods
  • Develop and distribute safety alerts
The successful candidate will require:
  • Certificate IV - Occupational Health and Safety and Certificate IV - Workplace Training and Assessment (Desirable) 
  • Experience with ICAM or Tap Root incident investigations 
  • Demonstrated experience operating within the construction/ contracting/ maintenance industry
  • Highly developed knowledge of OH&S legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards
  • Proven ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of people on a range of sensitive and complex issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment;
  • Ability to work with client team on HES issues
  • Willing to work both day and night shift when required
