The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Signals Maintainer for a rail project up near Karratha Region.

• FIFO from Perth or local to Karratha/Dampier
• Roster 8:6
• Ongoing role
• Rail Project

Position Duties:

• Efficiently carry out planned maintenance and inspections of train control signalling and associated communications to provide safe and reliable operation of the railway.
• Identify faults and undesirable conditions/hazards and rectify where practicable
• Assist with the development and implementation of improvement projects and propose improvements to maintenance processes, including the proactive use of diagnostic tools to support predictive maintenance activities.
• Attend and rectify faults in a timely manner to minimise production delays.
• Conduct themselves as a Member of the team, thru high standards of works, safety and a willingness to learn.
• Communicate regularly with key stakeholders including Train Control, Rail operations, RSM and Engineering Support regarding the signalling system performance.
• Determine cause and define action to be taken to rectify an occurrence or define actions to negate an occurrence or define actions to prevent occurrence of systematic failure.

To be successful in this position you will attain:

• A relevant trade qualification.
• Cert III in Mechanical Signalling
• Signalling and Rail industry experience
• Experience with Microlok and other signalling systems (desirable).
• Knowledge of rail asset protection systems (desirable).
• Mining Industry experience
• A Current Western Australian C- Class Drivers Licence.
