The Role
The Head of Engineering is a newly created senior leadership role, where you’ll provide functional leadership for engineering disciplines within the ‘Energy’ group of EnergyAustralia.
Reporting directly to the Energy Executive, you will drive continuous improvement to our operations through working with sites, energy trading and other functions to develop our people and practices – and achieving this through influence and respect.
Specifically, you will:
- Lead a small team of technical experts to improve our business by improving our engineering;
- Engage with all of our generation sites, providing both a sounding board/challenge to existing practices while also proactively exploring different approaches and strategies we could adopt in different areas;
- Work with site resources to develop and continually improve an enterprise asset management strategy;
- Develop and continuously improve systems and processes to monitor asset condition and predict failures;
- Ensure management, information and business process systems are kept current and improve performance and risk management across the business;
- Coordinate the development (in collaboration with our Regulatory Compliance group, and the sites) of an annual program for confirmation of generator performance standards.

You will lead a team providing functional leadership in asset management, reliability engineering and technical and specialist services for all our sites.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be an exceptional leader and have a successful track record in an engineering leadership role within power generation, hydrocarbon industry or chemical processing operations. You will possess the ability to lead a high-level team of engineering professionals and have the understanding of maintenance management systems/practices and CBM techniques. Most importantly, however, you will excel in personal interactions; build rapport and effectively drive improvements and outcomes through influence, learning and teaching.
