A niche opportunity has arisen for a highly organised Rope Access Manager/ Technical Authority to join the Maintenance and Industrial Divisional services team. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, you will be responsible for an allocated business support stream (Rope Access) to achieve business objectives and customer requirements.

The successful candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, a willingness to learn and the ability to handle competing priorities to meet deadlines whilst maintaining a friendly and approachable manner. Well-developed interpersonal skills and a positive attitude will be invaluable attributes to ensure success in this busy and varied role.

You will be required to:

  • Work cooperatively with the other Divisional/Business Unit managers to make the best use of Rope Access’ resources and skills
  • Liaise with the Business Unit or Divisional Commercial Manager, Project/Site Managers, Supply Plant & Equipment and Recruitment RepresentativesPlan and manage overall execution of projects/operations
  • Ensure synergies between people, processes and strategies to implement actions from the Business Plan
  • Lead excellent performance of operational safety across the Area/Business Unit
  • Build a culture that ensures appropriate risk management and compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, policy or guidelines
  • Identify opportunities and taking action to build strategic relationships between one's area and other areas, teams, departments, units, or organisations to help achieve business goals
  • Establish systems and processes to attract, develop, engage, and retain talented individuals; creating a work environment where people realise their full potential, allowing the organisation to meet business challenges
  • Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Trade qualification
  • Minimum of 5yrs as a current or former IRATA level 3
  • Experience in maintenance and construction in the mining services and/ or oil and gas industry
  • Competence, knowledge and experience of rope access management systems, including all statutory, IRATA and organisation reporting and compliance requirements
  • Managed risk as applied to sites including commercial, contractual, industrial relations, quality, communication, environmental, organisational and site/project -specific (schedule, budget, etc) risks
  • Proven ability allocating decision-making authority and/or task responsibility to appropriate others to maximise the organisation’s and individuals’ effectiveness
  • Experience translating strategic priorities into operational reality; aligning communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to ensure that strategic priorities yield measurable and sustainable results
