Step Up OCE/ Operator
Our client is currently seeking a suitably qualified Open Cut Examiner/ Dump Truck Operator to join their team!
Reporting to the Production Superintendent, your responsibilities would include but are not limited to:
- Managing and coordinating work on shifts to ensure targets are met safely and cost effectively;
- Undertaking statutory inspections in accordance with current coal mine legislation and the mine’s HSEC management system;
- Assisting with accident and incident investigations and risk assessments;
- Ensuring areas including roads, work areas and dumps are maintained in accordance with mining standards;
- Identifying areas of improvement to ensure efficiency; and
- Ability to motivate their team and work well with peers in a dynamic pit
- Must be able to manage the responsibility of operating dump trucks when not stepping up into the OCE role
It is essential that you meet the following criteria:
- A current NSW Open Cut Examiners qualification, or mutually recognised equivalent
- Must be willing to operate when not stepping up to fill the OCE role
- Must have at least 12 months experience operating either a CAT 785, Komatsu 830E or equivalent too
- Suitable experience working in an open cut coal environment, managing a large workforce;
- Experience in both operation and training on large mining machinery;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise with both maintenance and production crews
To be considered for a position, you must have experience working as an Open Cut Examiner as well as 12 months experience operating Dump Trucks and live within a 80km radius from Muswellbrook.
In addition to this, you are safety driven and express a positive attitude with a results driven work focus.
