Ulan Underground has an exciting opportunity to offer existing Mechanical and Electrical Tradespeople with no mining experience to a start in an established underground coal mine.

The Opportunity

We are offering 18 month fixed term employment, with opportunities beyond this for high performing employees to further progress their careers over the long term sustainable life of mine plan. The program is hands on and practical, with specific training and development designed to support your career growth. You will learn how to apply your trade to underground equipment, obtain underground operational skills, learn from industry experts and be a part of one of the most established coal mining operations in the western coalfields of NSW.

Who are we seeking?

To be successful in this role you will be a proactive and safety conscious individual that is eager to jump start your career in the Underground sector. A demonstrated willingness to learn and genuinely contribute, are hands on, a team players, hard-working and a fast learner. A Certification/Qualification in either an Electrical or Mechanical Trade is mandatory.

Located in the Mudgee region of NSW, Ulan Underground Mine has significant reserves of export quality thermal coal, a long term sustainable life of mine plan and willing workforce of predominantly local people. Mudgee boasts great schools, sporting facilities and health services, attracts tourists with its friendly relaxed lifestyle and abundant wineries and cafes, enjoys a moderate climate with four distinct seasons, runs daily flights to and from Sydney and is an easy drive to Newcastle to the East and the Blue Mountains to the South.
