Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria is one of Melbourne's most beautiful and historic landmarks. Founded in 1846, it extends across 36 hectares and is home to garden beds, trees, lakes, lawns and historic buildings. It displays around 50,000 individual plants, representing over 8,000 different species. In addition to our Melbourne Garden, RBGV has its unique Australian Garden situated in Cranbourne which provides a natural environment for fauna and flora.
Whilst located at the Melbourne Gardens site, on occasion this role will require you to work from our Cranbourne Gardens site - home to the award winning and innovative Australian Garden.
In this varied role you will be responsible for supporting the management of landscape systems focusing on catchment hydrology, lake and wetland management (including aquatic vegetation management and stormwater harvesting)
You will have a relevant diploma or demonstrated relevant experience in the principles of landscape water management including irrigation best practice along with experience and knowledge of environmental and landscape systems infrastructure. Your passion for landscape management, and ability to work both independently and as a constructive team-member will ensure your success in this role.
