What's the opportunity?

The Project HSE Adviser will work closely with the HSE Manager to ensure alignment in the implementation and application of overall Clean TeQ policies, procedures, strategy and compliance throughout the various stages of the Sunrise Project and beyond in operations. The role will be primarily based in the Perth office, with some site visits as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review contractor Safety and Environmental Management Plans and performance, as part of the pre-selection criteria and contract award.
• Monitor and advise management regarding specific legislative requirements for scope of works.
• Review of Health & Safety Management Plans / JSEAs / SWMS documents for subcontracted project work prior the start of work on site.
• Develop project specific HSE systems required for site mobilisation.
• Develop, maintain and test emergency planning procedures for site offices and work zones.
• Work with the Project HSE Lead to ensure consistency across the project and incorporate, best practices and to look for trends relating to hazards, risks and incidents.
• Review and manage the Project HSE Risk Register, update through the various stages of the project to align with relevant risks.
• Facilitate regular meetings with the Project HSE Lead on current HSE issues.
• Assist the Project HSE Lead to roll out inductions, coaching and mentoring programs that promote the development of safe behaviours.
• Ensure incidents, accidents and near-misses are formally investigated and maintain the records of the investigations. Develop improvements and implement these collaboratively. Communicate outcomes.
• Facilitate and/or conduct HSE inspections, checks and audits of the project sites. Report results to the Project HSE Lead.
• Key liaison with the HSE Officer and Clean TeQ staff at the Pilot Plant. Review and verification of site owner’s implementation and management of HSE for the site.

What can you bring to the role?

• Significant experience in similar HSE Adviser role with practical on-site experience within the resources sector.
• Previous experience in the review and development of HSE systems.
• Understanding of and demonstrated working knowledge of ISO standards for HSE.
• Experience in management of sub-contractors and relevant compliance requirements.
• Tertiary qualifications in HSE or equivalent certification.
