Mine Geologist (Underground) - Grosvenor Mine
Reporting directly to the Geology and Geotechnical Superintendent, you will work as part of the Technical Services team and assist in delivering best practice geological support to Grosvenor Mine. You will have a proactive approach to safety and ensuring compliance with all safety systems and legislation is essential to the role. You will advise the technical and operational teams of any emerging geological issues and recommend systematic approaches to develop and implement solutions that are in line with the overall strategy and plan in a timely manner. You will lead work teams in the execution of technical programs including hazard plan development, underground mapping, exploration planning, dilution monitoring and results analysis, ground monitoring . The role will also have a strong focus on coal reconciliation processes. You will facilitate effective communication between all relevant stakeholders and ensure that regular updates of the geological and resource models are completed in a timely manner. You will also provide specialist advice to meet the needs of the business and continually strive to identify , recommend and implement new strategies for continuous improvement from leading practice geological mining science.
The Mine Geologist position is a critical role for the business , being accountable for the execution of a number of technical programs requiring significant specialist knowledge. As such you will be a tertiary qualified and experienced Mine Geologist with extensive underground coal mining experience. You will be committed to safety, have strong communication skills, high level analytical skills and an ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be committed to continuous improvement and prepared to bring new ideas to the Geology function.
